SEORCEBot
SEORCEBot is the generic name of SEORCE's web crawler and AI visibility agent. You can identify it by looking at the user agent string in the request; it identifies itself as Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; SEORCEBot/1.0; +https://seorce.com/bot).
How SEORCEBot accesses your site
By default, SEORCEBot will respect the robots.txt file, but this can be disabled by users for specific audits. It usually accesses sites on user demand to verify AI citations and requests pages until the necessary data is gathered. It accesses the site with a polite delay between requests to ensure server stability.
SEORCEBot's purpose
The purpose of SEORCEBot is to crawl websites for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). It gathers information such as content structure, fact density, and citation links to improve the website's visibility in AI models (like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity) as well as traditional search engines.
Data collected
SEORCEBot collects metadata, page content, schema markup, and other signals useful for AI indexing and sentiment analysis. It does not collect personal data beyond what is publicly available on pages.
Controlling access
You can control SEORCEBot's behavior via your robots.txt, HTTP headers, or by contacting SEORCE support to request access changes.
SEORCEBot’s behavior
SEORCEBot is designed to be a respectful and well-behaved web crawler. It follows the rules set out in the robots.txt file and does not engage in any malicious or harmful behavior. However, if you believe SEORCEBot is causing issues on your site or if you have any concerns about its behavior, please write an email to hello@seorce.com.
